UIDAI permits the users of Aadhaar cardsto change their address, without needing documentation. Aadhaar cardholders were allowed to alter their address in the event that they have not provided the proof of identity.

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily suspended a crucial service that allows you to modify the address of your Aadhaar card's address, without evidence of address.

UIDAI allows those who have Aadhaar cards to change their address without the need for any documentation. Aadhaar card holders can alter their address if they are willing to accept the authentication of the address verifier. An address verifier could be a relative, friend, landlord or family member who allows the Aadhaar card owner to use their address as proof.

UIDAI has stopped this feature. UIDAI responds to an Aadhaar Card owner by tweeting that the capability to update address on Aadhaar Card via an Address Validation letter has been discontinued. UIDAI has requested its Aadhaar issuer to advise the user that they can update their address with another valid PoA document.

Dear Resident Dear Resident: The addresses Validation Letter service has been taken off until the next notice. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
